Gothic Stories

For Wednesday of next week, please write a Gothic story of no less than 500 words (two pages typed and double spaced) which uses as many Gothic elements as possible.  Please refer to your tree maps and Gothic elements list for examples and how they may be used.  While I encourage you to be creative and have fun with this assignment, please remember that you will be graded primarily on your ability to use the Gothic elements.

You will be given Tuesday and Wednesday of next week to work in class, but you should probably have at least a rough draft by then.

We finished An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce yesterday and will begin The Cask of Amontillado by E. A. Poe today.

Please make sure you are keeping up with the Gothic elements tree map.  Each story counts as a homework grade.  Several of you are not keeping up with the deadlines.  Please complete them, even after the deadline, as you will need them for your own short story and I can give you half credit.
