GOTHIC SHORT STORIES
Today we will read H. P. Lovecraft’s The Outsider in class. Please remember to keep you Gothic elements tree map up to date as we finish each story. We will read one more Gothic story on Monday, and then have two days to finish your own Gothic stories, which should have been started by now. You should have a rough draft on Tuesday for class. Remember to use the Gothic elements that we have been pulling out of the stories we have read:
- A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner
- The Yellow Wallpaperby Charlotte Perkins Gilman
- Where Are You Going? Where Have You Been? by Joyce Carol Oates
- An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce
- The Cask of Amontillado by E. A. Poe
- The Outsiderby H. P. Lovecraft
- Secret Observations on the Goat Girl by Joyce Carol Oates
I am looking forward to seeing what your creative side produces.
