THE CRUCIBLE

Today we began Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, a fictional account of the Salem Witch Trials written for the stage.  There will be cloze notes, vocabulary, and comprehension questions for each section of the book.  The first can be downloaded in MS Word format at this link.   Each of these will be due the day after we reach the end of that final page covered by that worksheet.

A crucible is a vessel used to heat metal in order to remove impurities and/or ready the metal for a mold.  You should be thinking about the title and why the author chose it when he wrote this play.
