SIDDHARTHA
Today we will begin the reading of Herman Hesse’s Siddhartha. You will be expected to complete reading assignments when they are due, as we will be discussing those parts and you will need those readings to keep up. I will check readings with unannounced multiple choice quizzes. You will also be asked to summarized readings (in written or tree-map form) through tracking the basic plot action, discussion of the Hero’s Journey, and any thoughts you have. You should also be using the margins to record vocabulary and any questions you have for class discussions. Please read Chapter One for tomorrow.
