ANTIGONE
Tonight’s homework was to check this blog.
We will finish Antigone in class tomorrow and wrap up our study of the Greeks. Here are a couple of things to remember:
- Antigone Vocab: All of the vocab words come from page one of the play. They are bequeath, twain, fraught, edict, doom, woe, bereft, grievous, brood, tiding. We reviewed the words via PowerPoint.
- You will need to be able to name and briefly describe the characters.
- You will need to be able to describe the important parts of the plot.
- You will need to be able to identify common themes of Greek tragedy and myth (ie. sons usurping fathers, fate vs. free will, intervention of the gods).
- You will need to be able to describe the Greek Chorus and what it’s job is.
